Learn what a File Manager is and exactly how it is different from its pc counterpart.
A File Manager tool is present in all Internet hosting Control Panels. As the name indicates, it's used to manage the files inside an account and all File Managers support a variety of basic features - browsing, moving, copying and deleting files. Certain Control Panels may offer you more complex capabilities also - changing file and folder permissions or creating and unpacking archives. Although files can be uploaded and downloaded with an FTP client, the File Manager is used much more often, so the simpler to use it is, the easier it will be for you to control your presence online in general. The opposite is also true - a File Manager that is hard to use could make it more frustrating and tough for you to manage your website content, specifically if you do not have previous experience.
File Manager in Cloud Hosting
The File Manager tool, which is a part of our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel, will allow you to administer all of the files that you upload to your cloud hosting
account easily. You can move files and entire folders by dragging-and-dropping them inside the account. You may upload content in the same way - pick a file/folder on your PC and drag it to your browser where the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder inside your account, you may also access context menus with more sophisticated options - you will be able to set up or to unpack an archive, to set up a password-protected area, to alter the UNIX permissions via a web interface or to change the content with a number of editors without ever leaving the Control Panel – a code editor, an HTML editor or a plain text editor. We've also added help articles and educational videos, which you may access straight from the File Manager to find out more about its features.
